Nigeria: APC Governorship aspirant kidnapped

The All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant in the forthcoming Ondo State, South-west of Nigeria governorship election and and a former speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Victor Olabintan, has been kidnapped in the federal capital territory, Abuja.

The Secretary of his Campaign Organization, Gboyega Ajayi, confirmed to journalists, that the Former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, was kidnapped on his way to Abuja from Akure, Ondo state Capital.

Ajayi said, Olabintan was kidnapped on his way to Abuja from Akure, 48 hours after he declared his intention to vie for the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Ondo State.

He said the APC candidate was kidnapped at kwali, a town at the outskirt of Abuja after he was flagged down at a military checkpoint by fake soldiers who turn out to be kidnappers.

However, officials of the Nigerian Police force, are currently trailing the kidnappers, Ajayi said.

APC was Formed in February 2013, through the alliance of Nigeria’s four biggest opposition parties. It is currently the ruling party of President Mohammed Buhari and controls most of the states in the country.
